Prozac

France is, as we know, the first consumer in the world of tranquilizers, sleeping pills and antidepressants. New champion : Prozac. The « happy pill » was tested by a million French people and 400,000 are currently receiving treatment. Ten years after its launch, it has become a miracle antidepressant drug, good for curing  psychiatric disorders. It owes its success to its limited side effects compared to other antidepressants.

First of all, after the opening minutes of the first consultation, doctors decided to prescribe it right after its launch.

Then, psychotherapists worried that their position would be dethroned by the drug called « Almighty ». Debates have been opened to talk about the financial aspect which is that they could lose money if patients were more about to turn for the drug instead of following a normal treatment with a psychotherapist

In 2011 the average spending in antidepressants for 100.000 inhabitants in Europe was 795,560$.

Sales for Prozac in 2000 are 2.57 billions $ .

In 2008 more than one in  five French people (21.4%) used psychotropes during the last twelve months against, (15.5%) of Spaniards, (13.2%) of Belgians, (5.9%) of  Germans… and as regards more exactly antidepressants, Only 10% of contributors to social security in France would have really consumed it.

•The RSPCA exists for public donation.

RSPCA – The Voices

The Video :

* Each year, many abandoned and unwanted animals are supported, many are saved from cruelty and many are neglected by their master like :

• At the beginning of the video, we hear a little voice, that of a little kitten abandoned by his mother. The little kitten said her mother was angry.

• The dog is scared of the approach of his master because he asks her to come to him to slug it out. She hides behind the sofa.

• In a garden, in the rain, this dog is abandoned by his masters because it is an old dog.

 * Animals suffer but in this ad they can speak, people can understand their pain. Fortunately, some people have a heart and help these animals.

• Towards the end of the video, the phone number is indicated for people to help animals.

CLARA LIONEL FOUNDATION Rihanna at the Diamond Ball 2014.

Rihanna created the « Clara Lionel Foundation » in 2012 named in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite.
During her grandmother’s battle against pancreatic cancer, Rihanna saw the substancial need for development in the healthcare system in her home country Barbados.
She gave 1.75 million dollars to the foundation, so that the Barbadian hospital « Queen Elizabeth » could invest in new equipment against cancer, which took the grandmother of Rihanna in 2012.
The Clara Lionel Foundation works to improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts and culture. The following programs are in development : Barbados Micro Grants Program for School and Clara Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program.
The Barbados Micro Grants Program allows schools to receive funding for supplies and get better programs to increase the number of students who have graduated.
The Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program raises money to get award scholarships to motivate youth in Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haïti, Gyana, Jamaïca and the United States.

« This evening is not about me. Tonight is about extending a helping hand to others when they need it most. That’s the quality I learned from my late grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, or my Gran Gran Dolly, and my grandfather Lionel who’s here with me tonight. »

One year after the first Diamond Ball in 2014, Kevin Hart hosted the second annual Diamond Ball which raised over $3 million. Funds raised from the second Diamond Ball went towards the Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program, the Micro Grants for Schools Program and the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados. Also, the supports healthcare infrastructure planning funds have been used to purchase additional radiotherapy equipment.

« When I launched CLF in 2012, I was following the example of my grandparents that has been passed down to my entire family. It’s simple. We care about each other and we help each other, and that’s what I want to do for my global family too, with a focus on health, education, art and culture. »

Anti World Tour 2016 Ad of new world tour of Rihanna in 2016

For Rihanna’s new Anti World Tour you can buy VIP tickets which costs 16,000$ for the foundation.

For us, it’s a good foundation because we care about cancer. People can see and know the real Rihanna who isn’t superficial like she seems to be for certain people. She helps poor people, she pays their treatments. Thanks to her popularity, she encourages celebrities and fans  to donate.

Calais and its jungle

The situation is actually terrible in Calais, migrants have to pass through Calais if they want to go to the UK, but they have to pay, sometimes for nothing  because they are taken by the police.

We feel  concerned by the recent events so we had to do this report to make people realize that they aren’t living in normal conditions  in the Calais’ slum and these shoul be applied for any human being. They have to endure horrible treatment in the boat from Asia to Europe  and once they arrived here in France they still live the same as they lived before on the boat. Once they arrive in France they are still stuck in Calais, sometimes during many years. We explained that there was  a movie about it, entitled « Welcome ».  This is an international issue but there are only few nations who care about it but the powerful nations of the world should unify themselves to solve this problem.

CHILD LABOUR

We decided to talk about child labour. For that we chose a poster commissioned by Save The Children.

stc_print_low-3
In the picture we can see many children. They are sitting on the ground and they are making soles for shoes. There is a boy in the middle, who is locked on a display just like in the museums. It’s written on the top left-hand corner : « WE MUST MAKE THIS A THING OF THE PAST »
It reminds us of  the special items of the past that testify to  history, which are locked in a display just like this child. It’s written :
« It’s frightening to think children today are still forced to work in factories, employed as prostitutes or don’t have access to clean water. These are some of the many issues Save The Children is working to make obsolete. Don’t miss our unique « make it a thing of the past exhibition at Southern Cross Station, corner of Collins and Spencer streets, 3-12 July »

thumbs_stc_print_low-1thumbs_stc_print_low-2thumbs_stc_print_low-4thumbs_stc_print_low-5
In fact it’s an ad for the 2009 exhibition in Melbourne. The exhibition deals with child prostitution, child soldiers and child death from unclean water. There are other pictures with the same theme.
Save The Children is an international association who fights against child abuse.
Child labour in Bengladesh is common, with 4.7 million or 12.6 % aged below 14 who work in factories. Poverty is the primary cause of child labour. Many associations try to help this country but factors such as urbanization and population growth perpetuate poverty. Education remains one of the top impacts of child labour.
